I'm Liz Jang, a natural light photographer based in the East Village, New York City, specializing in family portraits, lifestyle sessions, and welcoming baby sessions.

My approach is natural, organic, and intentionally unhurried. I create a free-flowing space where you can relax, be present, and let me capture the best side of you.
Whether we're documenting an outdoor family session, an in-home welcoming baby session, or an individual portrait anywhere in NYC, the result is a collection of timeless photos that reflect who you are and your family.

THE APPROACH
I handle the planning and the details ahead of time, so on the day, all you have to do is show up. No forced smiles, no long list of poses, just enough structure to keep things easy and enough freedom for the real thing to come through.
Every family, every person in front of my camera is different, and the photos should feel that way too. Some sessions are silly and loud, others are soft and still. I trust my intuition to bring out the best in you.
Perfection isn't the goal here — real life is. Your session is a space to let go of the pressure for perfect hair, flawless outfits, or camera-ready smiles. I love the beautiful chaos and the still, unposed pauses of real life: the unplanned laugh, the silly face, the little things nobody rehearsed. That's where the best photos come from.
I absolutely love portrait photography because of the genuine connection I get to make with people. There's a unique magic in getting to know you and your family and creating a beautiful memory together. Life moves fast, and photography keeps me grounded and present. A reminder to just be here with you, right now, and nothing else.
